½ tsp. Baking Powder
2 Cups. Water
For the Filling:
1 Cup. Seafood
¼ Cup. Diced Green Pepper

½ Cup. Finely diced tomato
1 tsp. Lemon Pepper
½ tsp. Salt
1 Tbsp. Frying oil
For the Filling:
In a bowl mix the seafood, green pepper, onion, tomato, lemon pepper and salt. Heat the frying oil in a pan and sauté the seafood mixture for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and reserve.
For the Dough:
In a bowl mix the MASECA®,dry shrimp powder, lemon pepper, baking powder and water until a smooth, even dough is formed which doesn’t stick to your hands. If the dough feels dry, add teaspoons of water (one by one). Once the dough is ready, cover with a wet towel so the dough does not dry out.
Take the dough and divide into 7 equal portions. Take a portion of the dough and form a small ball, flatten a little in the middle and add our seafood filling. Close the ball and flatten with your hands to shape it into a pastry. Repeat this with the rest of the dough. Fry the pastries in a pan with hot oil for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain the excess oil from the pastries and place on a paper towel. Serve hot with the sauce of your choice.
